The year 1972 was a challenging time for Maharashtra and parts of India due to a severe drought that impacted agriculture and livelihoods. During this period, Rajarama Chourasiya migrated with his family from Uttar Pradesh to Pune, Maharashtra, in search of new opportunities.

Settling in Shikrapur, a key trading hub on the Pune-Nagar highway, he observed the bustling marketplace near the ST bus stand and identified a growing demand for quick snacks. Seizing the opportunity, he began selling roasted chana, peanuts, and tea, which quickly gained popularity among travelers and locals alike.

Over time, his son Rajendra Chourasiya joined the business, expanding the product range to include Chana, Chikki, Namkeen, and Dryfruits. With growing success, they established their own factory and a large showroom along the highway, further strengthening their presence in the market.

After Rajendra Chaurasiya’s passing in 2001, Santosh Chaurasiya and his four brothers took over the family legacy. Today, in 2024, Chaurasiya Foods proudly offers 100+ premium products, carrying forward a three-generation tradition of taste and quality.
